Gaming Prince Review # 5

Hey guys! I’m so happy that I will be able to bring you great news about Daigasso! Band Brothers in this review.

For those who know how it works, Daigasso band brothers is pretty much like Dance Dance Revolution in the palm of your hands. But instead of using your feet or the stylus, you use the all the face buttons, d-pad and L and R to hit notes.

The song list is very J-Pop with songs like: Pokemon themes, Zelda, Kirby, Mario and so on. There are some familiar tunes with a Japanese twist to them like the entertainer, Christmas songs and more.

Though the game is in Japanese, It’s quite easy to understand and navigate to the main mode.

There’s about 40-50 songs on this cartridge and I personally love some of the songs.

You’ll first start off on the easy mode, which you hit notes with any of the d-pad arrows or any of the face buttons (A,B,X,Y) The bottom screen shows your record spinning with your condition or “Life Gauge.”

Like in a DDR training mode where they show the bar number (000,001,002) and so on, the same layout is for Daigasso!. I will try to type an example

001

+++ + + + O O OO OOO OOO O O +

002 + O O + +OO+O O+ +O O-------------------------.>

A pointer will come across these symbols and you need to hit the d-pad arrows or face buttons when the pointer goes over them. Sorry for making refernces to DDR, but It makes it easier for me to explain. There freeze notes, which are the same as freeze arrows. Some buttons will need to be pressed at the same time.

Keep doing well and you will complete the song.

Sometimes you will have to touch the touch screen and it will play a series of notes so you get to know the upcoming rhythm.

With each song, there are different musical instruments available and they have a difficulty level and different note patterns.

Once your ready to move up to normal difficulty, make your way to the recording room which is the Japanese blob on the right side, or the other option instead of band mode. You will have to complete a certain number of songs until your able to sign a contract for more music instruments and most of all, a new difficulty.

Normal follows the same mechanics as easy mode, but you use all of the face buttons as a separate note. So, A B X Y UP DOWN LEFT RIGHT is now completely different notes. But you will get used to it quickly.

If you want to get real technical and unlock the next difficulty, then do the same thing to unlock more options in the songs, and you can now use the L and R buttons. EEEK! This is where it gets completely difficult and chaotic.

There’s also a recording mode where you can sing into the Mic and record your own songs. When finished, the game creates a pattern for the song you just produced. I didn’t find this mode very accurate because it couldn’t even make a right musical tune for So Sick by Ne-Yo instrumental!

I have only had Daigasso! for 4-5 days, but the import is very friendly, easy to navigate, and the replay factor is way up there.

I ordered this game from www.yesasia.com for only $ 44.00 Cdn! Go buy this game right away and you won’t be sorry!

Send me a message or something if you have anymore question about the review or the game itself!

:D until then! BYE!!!
