A good start to the Xbox series
When I first played this game, I was truly excited on how it was going to be for me because I have always seen tournaments at arcades and such, and it looked very fun. When I first played with my dance pad, it was very hard. But as soon as you play it for while, you tend to develop reflexes on where to step each foot on which arrow at the same time or what not. It may sound confusing but you can get the hang of it if you really try.
The gameplay is fine. Each arrow registers right when you step, unless you have a half-assed dance pad, then there might be a problem lol. Alot of options to change the way the game looks as well as the voices of the announcers. There are about 50 songs and they are all great. They all give you that smooth vibe to really get into the game. Sound is excellent, a really nice tone to ears.
Aside from all that, Dance Dance Revolution Ultramix as an online mode via Xbox Live. It is decent at best. It supports up to 4 players online. If there are more players, then the arrows will get small and hard to see when playing so it is best to play with 2 other people. After a game is done, there will be a status screen, and after that it will bring all players back to the main online mode screen. Now this sucks because it would require you to keep making a room after each round. If you can get past this then I guess consider online mode a very good feature. The game also has downloadable content, where you can download song packs. Each song pack contains 5 songs and goes for the price of $4.99 USD. So it's basically it's a dollar a song.
In conclusion, Dance Dance Revolution Ultramix serves well as a rythym game. If you can pass by the few minor cons, you have a very fun and enjoyable game at your fingertips.
