Great game for fans who like a badass taking out the trash.
The game plays fairly well. The gameplay is solid. The puzzles are too easy to really call puzzles, and you run out of new enemies far too quickly. That said its still a great game that nobody should miss. The sound and voices are amazing and really make up the setting. The screams of victims in the walls and the bosses just set it off. Also when Dante talks you know he wants his woman back and nobody will stop him.
It is true that the last 2 levels just seem bland and no thought at all went into the design. Ive seen people say they think its cause they wanted to release in time to not get overshadowed by GOW3 which makes sense.
In all the game was really fun and down to the last boss fight I enjoyed it to the end. The ending seemed as usual as any and predictable. What surprised me was the size of Dante's manhood. If only the last 2 levels were the scale of his penis it would have been much better.
After you beat the game you got 2 options. One is Resurrection Mode which lets you replay the game in something such as a New Game+ allowing you to keep all your upgrades and souls. Basically this is just a reason to replay to do the other side unholy or holy for the plat, which was my case. The other option is Gates of Hell. This is waves of enemies (won't say how many for spoiler reasons) that you fight with a timer. You get time added for doing specific thing like absolve/punish or not getting hit. All in all it was over to quick and too easy, not much to consider.
