Exactly what you would expect from a Hack'n'Slash. Not much more.
The setting of the game is the strong point. Its disturbing yet fun. I mean "un-baptised babies" as enemies? The way hell is portrayed is also very well done. It looks and feels like hell. Around two/third of the game is played to the sound of screaming agony of the damned souls. The game pushes the 18+ rating to the limit. Which makes the game quite enjoyable, unless you have a weak stomach...
The game controls are good. I haven't run into many bugs anywhere, and the combat is easy to handle. There is pretty much no learning time required. The combat skill tree's of holy and unholy make the combat more interesting and fun, so you don't get bored in 2 hours like some other hack'n'slash games.
The game to me is nothing amazing to be honest, but then, I never expected a hack'n'slash to be a revolutionary game. I expected it to keep me occupied and have fun for a few days. And Dante's Inferno did just that. So if you want to just have some plain old fun slaughtering as many demonic bastards as you can, in the most gruesome way possible, then buy the game.
