Dante's first 3 levels are great. They are full of imaginative enemies and awesome bosses. But after that, the game starts to get repetitive, predictable, and boring. For example, the first boss is great fun to fight and the finishing move is really brutal. And the other 2 boss fights after that are fun and brutal too. I expected great, brutal, bloody boss fights in every circle also. But the other boss fights from then on are not fun at all. And, there are no brutal finishers to preform on them, so you really start to wonder what the point of fighting them really is. And the enemies are really shocking to encounter at first, but when you start to fight the same enemies over and over in every circle, it starts to get very boring. Also, you can preform finishers on a select number of enemies. You would think that there would be a bunch of horrifying enemies to destroy using the special finishers. Well if you thought that, stop thinking that now because there are about 2 different enemies to do kill moves on. 3 if you count the beast that you can ride, but don't kill.
Now I know I have been pretty hard on Dante, but now lets get on to the lighter side. I had a pretty good time playing Dante. It had some memorable fights, great puzzles, and the deep leveling system had me coming back for more. And since there are a vast number of trophies to unlock, you will probably start a new game to try to get them all. Also, Dante has the Gates Of Hell mode you unlock after beating the game. Inside are 50 waves of enemies that you can fight for a gold trophy. They are really easy to beat and it will take you no more than 35 minutes to beat it. There are also cool costumes and down-loadable content to buy after beating the game.
I had a fun time playing Dante, but I just wish that the later circles could have been as shocking as the first 3. Dante is a great game that any fan of God Of War should buy, but if you expect something that is revolutionary to the world of gaming, Dante is not the game you should get. Dante's Inferno gets a 7 out of 10.
