The nail in a great game's coffin...
User Rating: 4.5 | Dark Age of Camelot: Trials of Atlantis PC
Dark Age of Camelot was my first MMO experience, I picked up on accident at the store ended up playing it and fell in love with the community. All was great, then Trials of Atlantis was released. The game went from being fun to level and talk to people to these epic challenges that would take hours to complete, while don't get me wrong I loved the content that so many people could rally together to do. But the amount of time it would take to go through it all was mind boggling, It took countless hours to complete the master level system, which I only did twice, once on a RvR realm and once on the PvE realm. Yes the master levels brought another aspect to the RvR front but at such a high cost for things that were really unnecessary. For the PvE realm it was a great addition, but that was such a minor portion of the games population it was not worth what it did to the rest of the game. On top of that it was the first time the game community started to change a little, with the way re-spawn times worked and people after the artifacts RvR went way down.
On top of it all, you know a expansion is bad, when the developers themselves make servers that exclude that expansion. Glad they did it, but was way to late, the damage had been done.
