Amazing, without a doubt my favorite RPG on the PS2.

This game is simply amazing... The fighting system is great hack & slash fun with the addition of a glorious upgrading system that I instantly fell in love with. Also, they put in a spectacular city-building system so you can build cities from scratch, eg: Use such and such materials to create an item, then place it wherever you want.(The game gives you goals of course. Like, place this many houses, paint this house red, put a tree next to the red house, etc.)
Yet another thing that gripped me with this game was the fishing system. You can catch fish, then put them in a tank, feed them, fight them, race them, breed them.
In addition to all these wondrous qualities, this game adds an in-depth photography and invention system. You take pictures, some things count as a ideas, which you can use to create things such as a new weapon, food, or even new shoes. I absolutely loved the graphics in this game! The kind of cartoony, hand-drawn look gave me an even greater appreciation for this masterpiece.
What really surprised me about this game was when I heard the characters speak. I was with my friends and I believe my reaction was similar to 'Woah! That voice acting didn't suck! And this is a video game... can they do that?'
The only thing I found lacking in this game was that I wanted it to be longer, and have more weapon build-up options.
