Dark Cloud 2 sets a new bar for creating sequels. The gameplay is very similar to the first game, except that they improved upon it in almost every conceivable way. The nuisances that slowed the first game down are gone, at least all the ones that I could remember. The graphics are nice to look at, the voice acting is really good, and the story is great. The game is pretty long, even for an adventure/RPG. Just getting through the main story will probably take at least 30 hours of playtime, and if you want to complete all the special objectives and collect all the unlockables, you can probably expect to spend 2-4 times that altogether. The diversions are pretty diverse, and keeps the game fun pretty much throughout. If you liked the first Dark Cloud at all, but got bored or annoyed with the gameplay after a while, you'll probably like this game. Fans of adventure RPGs (by adventure I mean games like Zelda) should really enjoy this game.
