Incredibly hard but rewarding game.
I love this game...
It got a wonderful dark atmosphere and is not cheesy like many other jrpgs are, it got beautiful graphics and truly fantastic music. The story is also great, or the stories, because instead of having one very long story this game has a few shorter stories. The stories are all eventful and it's not the standard hero-save-the-world type of stories.
But...
The hardest difficulty I could choose in this review was "very hard", but to call this game "very hard" is just wrong, because there is only one word to describe the difficulty of this game; sadistic. Once you start playing this game it becomes very obvious why its called "Dark Law: Meaning of Death".
Also...
I don't like the leveling system, you become stronger and learn new abilities through different jobs but the leveling is so random, sometimes you get a great level up, lots of more HP and MP and some new abilities while you sometimes could gain several levels without learning any new abilities and only gaining crappy stat increases. Of course you can save before you level up and reset and reload if you got a "bad level up", but it's just boring to play like that.
And...
This game was never released in english but there is an english translation patch by Aeon Genesis.
