An interesting way to pass time for under $10.
i went out on a whim and decided to pick it up for 8.99 at Gamestop, which I'd to mention, is absolutely retarded for putting used game stickers on the actual paper label of their used games. I'm just gonna order games from Amazon from now on.
So playing through Dark Sector, I immediately felt the low budget vibe of the game mainly cuz of the poor textures and art style. The character looked decent but the animations were quite robotic and felt lifeless. I couldn't expect too much from this game but form what I remember it did have a ton of hype.
The run and gun is nothing new and tends to try and mimic Gears. Although there is cover, it doesn't really work well since you can kind of exploit it anyways and use your Glaive to get through the game easily.
The weapons all felt the same and i was never motivated to really upgrade my weapons. What I did like was how the trickled my powers to me little by little, so i did feel like a metallic bad ass at the end.
Maybe if I had played this game a few years back i would have had a bit more appreciation for it, but none of the characters, combat moments, story, cinematics, levels, or gameplay were really memorable.
