The glaive is the source of your power... your pain... and your vengeance!
The story starts off very quickly, and forces you straight into combat. At first its just another generic shooter, but when you get infected by the virus unleashed by a mad man who is hell-bent on taking over the world, you have an extremely unique power - The glaive. This is literally a bladed boomerang, which you can throw at enemies and occassionally solve puzzles with.
This game certainly deserves its mature rating. When thrown, you are capable of dismembering humans and zombies in a variety of cool and brutal ways. Arms, legs, you name it. At certain points of the game you'll also get new powers with the glaive such as a shield or the ability to go invisible for a short time.
The sixaxis also comes into the game, as when you throw it, you can direct it yourself, meaning that the game goes into slow motion, and limbs are very vulnerable for chopping off. There is enormous amounts of satisfaction when your throwing the glaive at an enemy, and you see him turn to run, screaming for someone to help him.
The cutscenes are, at times exciting, and the story is interesting, even though there isn't a twist or two.
You can carry other weapons, and find upgrades lying around. Unfortunately I felt the upgrade system was underdeveloped, and was too basic.
A game which definitely is one that you need to check out and play sometime.
