So, I understand that the game is meant for hardcore players, and that´s ok. But even then, there should be explanation somewhere as to how the game works, and it´s very annoying to have to actually quit the entire game (there´s no pause button...) just to go to the internet to find the answers.
I have never played such an infuriating, frustrating, maddening game in my life. Never had I experience a rage quit before. This "game" is like playing monopoly against a player with all the money on the bank. You get happy when you are lucky enough but the rest of the game you are just mad, because let´s face it, the game is unfair.
Perhaps this is not my type of game, perhaps there are players who enjoy it. But since I am not that type of player, and I have not enjoyed it, then, the final score is abysmal. The game will not be fun to play, except when you are at lvl 70 and go back to the first or second location and easily kill all the enemies (they might still kill you as well if you are careless).
There´s no armor upgrade, the storage mechanics are terrible.
The bosses are ridiculously hard to beat, and that would be OK, if it weren't for the fact that:
- You loose ALL the souls (for leveling the character and buying stuff) each time you die. You get one chance to go back to where you die and recover the souls, but if you get killed on the way, good bye then. Also, if you get killed on a boss, you have to get inside the boss to recover the souls (there´s no way back) so you have to beat him even if you needed the souls to level up due to the fact that you weren't strong enough to kill the boss...............
- Each time you die, fast travel or rest, ALL the enemies (except the bosses) are re-spawned automatically.
- The road from the bonfire (checkpoints) to the boss is usually a bit long, and since you re-spawned, all the enemies will be there. You either take a long time to kill them all, or go YOLO running and dodging all over the place getting some hits loosing health.
- There´s a limited amount of healing, you either die, fast travel or rest to get the stock back (re-spawning all the enemies again)
- The damage the bosses do, can easily take +80% of your health. On the other side, using the correct weapons you will probably do around 2-4%, (except that sword vs the giant case) meaning you would have to hit the boss +30 times, while he kills you with two or three hits...
In general this could be a very good game, but the mechanics make it a unfair game therefore it´s hard. Not the other way around, don´t be fooled.
