Absolutely Brilliant

User Rating: 9 | Dark Souls III XONE

This game perfectly balances action and RPG. There is no in depth soap opera story line, you do not have to sit through hours of dialog before playing. You get thrown right in, no maps, no hints, a few intros on what button does what is all you will get. You have to figure out everything on your own. There is no right or wrong weapon. Each weapon is unique and can be customized and upgraded.

This game is not for everyone. It is difficult and you will die a lot. You have to be determined to play through it. There are a ton of items and secrets, you can go back and re-visit areas you've already beat to level up or find more items.

The longer you play the more you have to do. Online play is very unique in that you can summon another player to help you through an area or beat a boss. You can also let yourself be summoned as well to help someone else. However, you also run the risk of someone invading your game.

A lot of boss battles are a little too reliant on you summoning another player to help you. That's my only complaint about this game. However, this game will keep you occupied for many many hours, finally getting past an area that's taken you a week is rewarding and sucks you in more. Discovering a completely new area only to die a second later makes you want to go right back, but avoiding what killed you last time.

It's a fantastic and unique game that draws you in if you let it. A little determination to get past the difficulties and a little patience are needed. But it's so addictive you will not want to stop playing.
