For starters, this game is defined as "hard" for all the wrong reasons. Yes, the bosses are tough to beat, and some enemies as well. But it's not because they are difficult to outmaneuver, but because they have high health, high damage, and the controls are bad. Doing the same thing four times isn't difficult, but it's four times more difficult than doing it once, which is why Dark Souls is considered "Hard".
As for the controls, they are abysmal. It took me five hours to get used to them, and that's with help from a friend telling me that what I was trying to do was actually jump (Run and press B is jump, as opposed to logical stop running and then start running, or stop and roll, what the controls are for the rest of the game). The game is also super floaty, and no way to adjust the sensitivity for turning, but you can adjust the camera sensitivity. For combat, the lock on system is almost mandatory, and is mostly broken, seemingly adjusting itself to random enemies. If an archer is shooting you from far away, you can't lock on and use your shield to protect you, either.
Despite all that, the fighting is still relatively easy when it comes to normal enemies. Shield block, then attack works 90% of the time. Except, half of the combat revolves around enemies throwing fire bombs at you, having it explode in your (and an enemy's) face, and stunning you, so that the enemy fighting you can hit you while you're stunned. No, enemies cannot hurt each other with throwables. 90% of your deaths will be from that, or falling off a ledge.
If you like playing games that make you feel like and think that you're playing a game, this is for you.
Pros:
Harder than most games
Rewards exploring
Cons:
No Pause (Don't give me the "online" bullshit. If I haven't interacted with someone, it's not online)
Terrible controls
Incomplete tutorial
Most deaths are troll deaths
Inconsistent
Too Floaty
Boring
I got this game for free with Games With Gold. It was so bad, I want my money back.
