Even the grinding is fun

O what a masterpiece. Everything is right in this successor of the equally brilliant "Demon's Souls": The tight controls, the low key sounds, the graphical art ("Praise the sun!"), the ingenious multiplayer and especially a story that cleverly stimulates the player's imagination. And has there ever been an atmosphere like this?

Most games, I admit, leave me mentally drained afterwards. Not in the case of Dark Souls. The fights demand caution and patience: no deadening reload excesses here, no rushing through. And so very often you just pause the action at the edge of a cliff contemplating your, well, virtual fate.

The only thing I started to hate sometime was the element of chance. In some very annoying cases enemy behaviour was unpredictable (Capra Demon, magic spamming Four Kings etc.). If your success

BOTTOM LINE: Playing "Dark Souls" I became melancholic that there might never be another game like this.
