The only certainty in life are death and taxes. Dark Souls handles the death-part damned well.

Dark Souls is a new level in gaming. It's not the graphics, the story, the visual effects or medieval hags with big boobs that will keep you playing (no offense, Witcher) - it is the atmosphere ! The darkness ! (and yeah, the fact that I am probably a masochist since I enjoy this game so much...)

It is the darkest game I played since Diablo I in 99. The game is hard&unfair - no sense of compassion for the poor player holding his joystick in the living room and being afraid of opening the huge door in front of him - you learn from very early on in the game that you exist basically just to die.

There are no "right" choices - no matter what class you choose, or how you spend your hard-earned level POINT(that's right, no plural), you still have the feeling you have done something wrong - the game doesn't seem to get any easier as you push forward.
You are required to change your fighting techniques quite often, and none of them are even close to perfection - WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?? WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH THIS GAME? IT IS INSANE! (just thoughts running through my mind about every 10 minutes).

I have tried hard to find glitches, to "cheat" in some way, to outsmart the damn creatures haunting this gloomy world - seems pointless - regardless of what i do, I get the message "YOU HAVE DIED" quite often.

There is a good part in dying - you will respawn! And all the souls (the equivalent of experience) you had when you died are gone, and all the damned monsters you have killed have respawned. Yippeeeee!

Due to the autosave feature of the game, I strongly believe something bad is going to happen to my PS3 - I started plugging it off close to dying - this is how insane this game got me!

Don't believe me? Give it a try, mate - see how good you are with "anger management"!
