Great Music, Mediocre storyline and graphics. Bad broken controls.

Dark Void is a run of the mill FPS. At least for a first few levels. Enemies are hard to kill and therefore the implemented cover system is a god-send. It plays like a very standard FPS. The game play is even enjoyable at times.

However In these first few levels it already shows all the symptoms of a poorly ported console title:
- Mediocre Xbox 360-like graphics
- check-point save system
- non-skippable cut-scenes (at least not when using a mouse and keyboard)
- on-screen prompts that show controller buttons. The Xbox 360 controller mind you. So if your using any other controller you're searching all over your controls to find the matching one. I even had to go so far as to make a translation list from Xbox controller buttons to keyboard buttons..

Then you take to the skies with your jet-pack and you encounter some more ridiculous problems:
- Very, very poor mouse steering control. While I have a very distinct feeling this could have worked.
- Awkward keyboard controls (double-tap a button to reverse direction??)

And than the worst of all: the very, very, very stupid quick-time events that are unavoidable and sometimes even use exclusive controller inputs; effectively making it impossible to finish the game using a mouse and keyboard.
If you do not have a xbox controller hooked up to your pc: do not buy!!!
If you do have one; wait for the budget price (won't be long).
