Not quite as good as the original.(Possible spoilers)
Story: Darksiders 2 follows the story of the horseman "Death" the most feared of the four, as he tries to prove his brother's innocence "War". The game is more like a filler title, as it occurs around the same time frame. The biggest problem that I had with the story, was the lack of a strong narrative; unlike the first which had me engaged from beginning to end, DS2 left me wanting more, without ever having any. The fact is the majority of the characters that Death meets feel like death is having nothing but an idle chat, and not the confrontations of the first, where War and his meeting with some major characters were very engaging. But in any case I wont give away too much, and let you find out yourselves.
Graphics: The artstyle in DS2 is impressive; the comic book like style is breathtaking and seeing an icy world in this way never gets old. Character models are pretty solid. Everything might not be perfect( the water in particular), but it's still a pretty neat sight.
Gameplay: Unlike the first, DS2 has had an overhaul in this department. The game plays more like an RPG, while still keeping the hack & slash elements of the old. And the ability to loot to find weapons, armor, etc is a very nice addition. Platforming is also very well done, as in my playthrough I felt like I was playing Prince of Persia. Puzzles are also in although, they show up more than you would want them to. There is also a new game + and plenty of collectibles to keep you busy. Plenty of side-quests to do as well and take the majority of your playthrough.
Sound: Like the original, the Voice acting is top notch and sound effects(sword clashing etc.) are top notch. There might be some audio cut offs and some points in the game (at least in my playthrough).
Replay Value: Like stated before, there is a new game+ and plenty of collectibles.I failed to mention about a skill tree and leveling up system. Also the new game+ feature is essential to reach the level cap for your customized Death.
Overall: Darksiders 2 is a solid entry in the franchise, but the lack of strong pulling story, keeps it from besting the original.
Note: This is my first impression on the game and Is my opinion. Sorry, for any grammar mistakes, as I am in a hurry.
