Your lead by The Charred Council, who reaches above all else... Oh, and one more thing... One day, you will be called upon from The Council. That day, will be the destruction of The Third Kingdom. Darksiders is a very unique game, without being too quirky compared to other games. The game has been accused of many things, such as; Plagiarism.
I can't ignore that fact, since probably every other reviewer is writing the same damn thing. This game reminds me, more than anything, of Zelda:Ocarina of Time. now is that a bad thing?...
This game picks up, where older games left off, and uses some of their ideas. Darksiders has gotten away with that, far better than many other games who tries to Plagiarize themselves. Darksiders seems like a combo of several popular games, however it's taken all the good stuff, twisted it a little bit, and KABLAMO! You got a new game!
To get to the bottomline of this game.
Darksiders brings you alot of action, and alot of fun.
It gives you a decent story, a great gameplay, and some quite original graphics.
This game also feels rewarding. you get more and more powerful as you move on, you get new items, greater bad ass weapons, and of course alot of special moves to finish the job!
however this isn't just a hack'n'slash game, no no.. There are quite some interesting puzzles to be solved in Darksiders, where you'll have to use your brains(or a guide if you wanna skip the braindamages). The game has got ALOT of variety, the actual gameplay, and the pace of the game switches, and it really increases the interest.
You might be asking yourself; "He praises the game to the skies.. why only give it an 8.0?"
And I'm gonna cut it short. The story is shallow, and you don't quite get all the details in the storyline, unless you think outside the box. Also, sometimes the puzzles can get annoying. Another thing that I know will frustrate many.. Is during combat with a dozen of enemies, you might run into the fact, that you get hit and interrupted repeatedly, without being able to act.
BUT with that said... With all the bad weighed against all the positive things this game has to offer, it's worthy of an 8.0, which is far from bad!
