Like a McDonald's burger, black pudding and Adele - its much better than it first looks!
This is actually just a slightly updated version of an old pc game and it shows in the somewhat repetitive samey gameplay, however i for one don't get tired with blasting pirate ships in to tiny pieces although the endless landing on space stations is very tiresome after a while.
The game looks pretty good with the updated graphics and i couldn't really tell it was just a pc port, although you do start to see as you progress through the game that some things are recycled again and again; for instance almost every single pirate says exactly the same thing and a surprising number of them seem to be Scottish which is a little strange and makes them feel like they're English police officers (they're all Scottish i swear!).
The storyline is solid, if a bit too predictable but theres enough there for a good amount of playtime and the chance to just upgrade that cannon or unlock the hidden systems keeps you coming back even after the story has concluded.
Theres not much to say about this game, its just good solid playable fun nothing more nothing less, yes there are little niggles and repetitiveness but if your a fan of this type of game then you will happily overlook these.
I got it cheap as a download on xbox live and i can honestly say its worth every penny (or cent).
