One of the Greatest shooter experiences on the Playstation 2. Darkwatch really doesn't dissappoint.

Darkwatch is really one of the best first person shooters on the PS2. Of course it does not have much to contend with either since most of the good ones such as Unreal Tournament, and Half Life are a bit outdated now. In this game you play as a cowboy called Jericho Cross. Well you start off on a train and not to ruin it for anyone but by the end of the ride your a vampire. Then you try and make reconciliation for your life by going after the vampire that changed you, his name is Lazarus and you idiotically let him free. Then it's pretty much crazy horror western for the whole game. The double jump feature was a great and pretty fun part of the game. You could dual wield do tilts to the right and to the left and it really had a good feel for the controls. Maybe not the default, but one of the has a good feel for me anyways. The sound in this game really did not blend too nicely in parts one second your listening to music then the next second wind then you back track a little and listen to music again, did not seem very well designed on that end. The graphics were terrific for the Play Station 2 and it really does have a pretty good value since you can play the game with your friends and you can choose the path of good or evil. And there is enough upgrades in the game that you can max out on good or evil and start on the other side of the spectrum. Over all this game is a pretty fun and new experience, totally unlike any other, but it also has a good blend of a few classic ideas like western, horror, vampires, and you all know the good stuff. If FPS really isn't your style though then just get it as a gift for someone who does like it and maybe you'll learn to like it.
