This first-person shooter from Capcom is an impressive, also a great change of pace from the usual fps in which you kill people such as Call of Duty and much more. To tell the truth, these kinds of shooters like Darkwatch are the one I like. Though a bit short it's still an interesting, intense and exciting FPS.
Don't get fooled by the name Darkwatch from the beginning. You'll know what that means after some time. Anyway, you start off with a man named Jericho Cross, which is an outlaw. He intended to steal the last train but somehow he miscalculated and toke the wrong train. He was looking for gold I presume. He managed to blow the volt where according to him there was good but ended up freeing Lazarus, the son of Satan. This Lazarus guy cursed him to be a vampire. Also he awaken all the dead of the area, this is gonna be fun. The story is engaging enough to make you understand what to do next. At first you will be with Cassidy and later you will know who about the Darkwatch.
There are more 'bosses' than other FPS'es. If they are bosses. Sometimes the dead will keep coming until you destroy a tree, it's a mark. If you destroy it all the dead will be dead. There is a good variety of weapons in the game such as the Carbine, Redeemer and the Crossbow. The only problem is that you can only carry one at a time. Unlike the other FPS I played it let me carry more, I don't understand why Darkwatch doesn't let more weapons. Through the game you'll encounter hundreds of zombies. There are gunslingers and soldiers which will shoot you. If you're a vampire, along with the HP you will have a yellow bar which is like a shield. This is pretty useful in intense battles.
Powers can be obtained by sacrificing souls from tortured souls or something. These things are found in some parts of the game. Approach them and the game will ask you if Good or Evil. Good is letting the soul rest in peace and the Evil to keep the soul for yourself, it's your chose. The ability of a vampire which Cross has which you can use anywhere is the double jump. This allows you to jump more than normal and jump much higher than a human can do.
Graphics are pretty good. Not glitches or bugs throughout the whole game. Darkwatch has several cutscenes but Jericho is a man of few words, you will normally hear people talking to him, he rarely talks. The cutscenes are good too and voice acting could have been better, though it's not horrible. Something else about the gameplay. Gameplay isn't all FPS. There are some horse rides which are third-person shooter. Apart from those the game is all FPS. Character models are excellent and enemy AI is very good and challenging. Music is mostly wide west style, which is pretty good also. Multiplayer mode is good. There is mostly every mode you expect in a first-person shooter such as the deathmatch.
Darkwatch, in the end is a great FPS experience. Despite some minor frustrating things, Darkwatch is definitely worth playing. For non FPS fans this one might change your mind. Players who played serious FPS, some of them might find Darkwatch a bad one. But those who don't like FPS'es such as Call of Duty, Crysis or Halo in which you kill people, and you want to spend some time killing zombies, Darkwatch is made for you.
