A game that is very fun, just way way to short.

Now this is a game that when I started playing was very caught up in. The game looks pretty damn good and is a lot of fun. But the games biggest flaw is it's length; I am not sure if it was just me or maybe it not, but I beat the game in less than 5 hours. It was fun, I was loving it and as soon as it began, it was over. And to me, that is the biggest problem with this game. On the good side, the game has a lot of neat little details that a lot of games like it are missing. The biggest being the use of vehicles, well one is a buggy with dual gatling guns strapped to the top while the other is your horse. I found the buggy to be a little difficult to control, but nothing that really took me out of the experience. The horse sections are the best parts of the game. Espically one of the last sections when you are riding next to a train, gunning down demons from your horse. The graphics in Darkwatch are actually are quite good nice textures and the character models are not particularly hard on the eyes. The special effects are also quite spectacular, explosions look espically good and the fact that you can remove limbs is also quite neat. The games sound is probably the best thing about Darkwatch. All the guns sound appropiately boomy and the explosions as well. The thing that really stands out is the games music which is part Red Dead Revolver and another part The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. It really helps set the tone for this gothic western FPS. Overall the game is a lot of fun while it lasts, and while it does have a robust multiplayer componet, the single-player campagin is just too darn short. So if your looking for a decent multiplayer, and a fun but short single player game (with online capibliities on the X-Box) take a look at Darkwatch, it is still one of the years best console FPS's. Out!
