Darkwatch had everything to be something different. Is it? I think not.

Darkwatch gets out of its grave and attempt to enter the Free For All fight of the FPS genre. Sadly, it ends to be ranked in the 'good but not quite' genre of B classe games.. Darkwatch can't stand against games like Doom3, Far Cry, Half-Life 2, Chronicles of Riddick, and so on. It stands amongst games like Area 51, Geist, or Time Splitter 3. You play the role of an outlaw who ends up bitten by a vampire and transforms into one. Thats about what you need to know and , the plot isnt really interesting either, you will be able to discover everything before it happens, its really cliche. Gameplay wise, Darkwatch plays good. It's not complicated, but sometimes controls aren't responsive. For example, you will often be wanting to vent your revolvers by the hammer of the gun by hitting the right trigger quickly, and it won't happen. The crosshair is okay, but not pin-point edgy and accurate. The 'vampire' jump was supposed to be cool, and it lacks something important, the 'cool' factor isnt here, its just jumping without accuracy and floating like in halo2. Graphic wise, backgrounds are great, (full moons, clouds, dark blue sky), guns are good looking, but the textures are ugly. Sound wise, the music are really good, but the voice acting just suck. The game is about 8 hours long, and you can be either good or bad, but its only a matter of different endings and you can see both of em if you choose the last level in the gunslinger mode while choosing the side you want to see. a good 1 min of play time and you see it. Finally, Darkwatch had everything to be more than a B class game, but it lacks of style and substance, plus, 3/4 of the levels arent interesting, and the concept of the game isnt well used. Give it a rent, or just pass by, you wont find something more than a week end entertainement here
