Good game, but flawed

User Rating: 6.8 | Darkwatch PS2
Alright, I when into Darkwatch expecting a much better experience than what i came away with.

Don't get me wrong, it's a fun FPS, with a few intresesting twists, but it also falls short in a few areas.

The graphics are good, the story (though weird) is good, and the gameply is certainly fun. The whole "gothic wild west" look was pulled off nicely, and the weapons are nice if you know how to use them.

So what makes the game bad?

The Weapons first of all. There just aren't enough of them, and really, if you find one you like, you can pretty much stick with it for the rest of the game. They doon't really have to many strengths/weaknesses when compared to one another.

Too short. For the game that it is, it's fun, but you'll come away feeling cheated on how quickly the game is over.

The Horse Sequences. Ok, I'm not saying these suck, far from it, I actually liked them alot, the problem is that if you like them, there are very few in the game, and replaying the same ones gets old.

Too easy. You'll fly through this game just do to the difficulty. They could have done alot more with the enemy AI,

Did I mention too short?

All in all it's not a bad game, certainly worth renting if you don't want to buy it. Just don't go into it expecting a Doom 3 comparible experience.
