Finally a city-building/trading game that is superior.

So, for many years since "SimCity" :) I've been looking for a substitute that works. In my opinion requirements for such a game are: It should look inviting and this game does so. It should be fun to play and this one is. It must have a working "chain" of goods for development and a interface that isn't in the way - also this part "Dawn of discovery" masters.

In my search for a good game of this type I've found that most of them looked dull, interface faulted and it was very very hard to actually understand the game mechanics. If it is one thing that "Dawn of discovery" misses on it would be the manual. But by the help of the web - in some hours everything became clear to me and I was really addicted. The part where you follow a story is kind of done the same way as in "Age of mythology" - as I remembered it. The story is kind of basic but ends up in a great and at least on medium settings, hard finale.

My point with this review is that I've been looking for a great game in this genre for years now - I actually finally found one in "Dawn of discovery"!

The only thing missing besides a decent manual is - and I have never found a strategy game that really has this - a closer "feeling" for your inhabitants, your people. What I mean is that instead of showing violence, illness, poverty and so on with houses diminishing - I would like to be able to actually see disaster (and happiness...) with my own eyes. Like small green men puking all over the place and dying in the streets, people getting robbed. As in every game before this one - this is shown only by houses on fire and production halted. I believe that "Immortal Cities: Children of the Nile" was the best but not perfect example of a not so technical view of everything....

Please combine those two games :D
