This game isn't for everyone, but if you're one who enjoys City building and resource hoarding, this game is for you.
But there is a special breed of gamer. The type who could care less about unit production, or trying to rush the enemies base. There is a special breed of gamer who enjoys collecting as much as possible. Whether it be Special units, resources, you name it. Dawn of Discovery appeals to this kind of gamer, and it's more rewarding than one might thing. There's a steep learning curve, but once it's climbed the game is rewarding and addicting. (I hadn't played any previous Anno game and i was able to pick it up fast, there are plenty of guides and tutorials online so don't worry too much)
There's two big modes in the base game, Sandbox and Campaign. Honestly i don't play campaign, i love sandbox too much. It allows me to create cities and do whatever I want without a set of goals getting in my way.
Dawn of discovery is a beautiful game. The score is excellent, the visuals are VERY impressive, and aside from a strange scrolling chop, the game is incredibly stable (Compared to a lot of other PC games). The devs put time into this game, and it shows.
Dawn of Discovery is easy to recommend, but not to just anyone. But if the game appeals to you, reader, i recommend you pick it up right now.
