I was skeptical of Daxter at first. The whole platforming genre did not intrigue me, like, at all. But seeing the great ratings that Ign and Gamespot gave, I decided to give it a try. The first few levels impressed me visually as the graphics in this game are outstanding, butthe gameplay was slow and formulatic. But during the third level things start to pick up, and pretty soon this game has completely addicted, asking for more and more. It is a sort of lengthy game, but not as long as I would have liked considering that I bought it. The minigames are also tons of fun, especially for someone who has seen the movies on which they are based (I have seen all of them). They are simple, Dance Dance Revolution type minigames, but fun nonetheless. Still, a good 2-week rental from blockbuster should give you adequete time to beat Daxter. Please note though that the boss battles absolutely SUCK. The regular combat is fine, but the bosses are way, way, way too easy, as well as cheap. Good thing there are only three of them.
