I've not been into fighting games since Mortal Kombat 2 but this really got me fired up again with fighting games...
I thought: "What's the whole hullapalooza about?! " and decided to sit down and watch. It was really beautiful, graphics were great and the characters were cool. I was a bit sceptic when I saw the girls, really sexy outfits on sexy looking girls with big jugs and very low cut tops.
But then I looked past that after trying a few rounds with me mate. It was friggin hard!
His favourite character's are Jann Lee and Hayate, and this time he decided to be Hayate.
I decided to try a few characters out, starting off with Gen Fu.
Got beaten into a pulp, so I took another: Ein.
This didn't help, because it was not as I expected to be. I thought it was gonna be like Tekken, easy to kick someones arse even if yer not skilled just by pressing a whole lot of buttons. It wasn't!
Every move I did he saw it before hand and counter blocked it. It was frustrating, but also exciting. I had finally found a fighting game that re-kindled my boyhood fascination for martial arts in games.
I borrowed the game and played it all the way through with every character, trying to get in depth with them, seeing which character I could relate to best or ye know, just dig the most hahaha.
And this was quite easy seeing as I had bought Ninja Gaiden and fell for the character of Ryu Hayabusa for three simple reasons.
1. He is like a dragon when I'm fighting with him, his moves are friggin awesome, powerful and unpredictable to my mate.
2. He has such a cool story and Ninja Gaiden is so friggin great, this character got true spirit power.
3. He is a ninja, and I am very much in love with the Japanese culture and history, which include ninja's and samurai's, which are very fascinating ways of life.
So I kicked my friends arse with Hayabusa after 1 month of intense training with him against the computer, memorizing those complicated moves and inventing own combos. And very importantly if ye want to be great at this game: Study yer opponents moves and patterns (which is very much true in real life as well (I study martial arts as well) ).
And now I am very much looking forward to Dead or Alive 4, because the graphics are greater and the gameplay I hope is the same or better. New characters and new stuff.
I got four letters describing this game: C O O L
It's friggin cool!
