Graphics - 10/10 The graphics are just stunning, some of the best I have ever seen. The arenas are just amazing, they feel so alive and look perfect. The characters look just as good, the cloths on the characters are just awesome and cannot be faulted, my only gripe with the graphics are the characters faces feel a little bland. Some special effects just look great too, such as when you smash your opponent against a wall that explodes and when Tengu changes the season, the effects are stunning. The graphics are near perfect. Gameplay The gameplay is fast and furious, a big part of the gameplay is countering, you press the "free" button and the direction you think your opponent is going to strike and you will do a counter move, causing large damage, a bit too much damage really, sometimes a battle can be won just by mainly countering a few times, computer is very fond of countering, which can become annoying. Combos are nice and simple to preform, there is only one punch and kick button so tapping them in a certain order will preform different combos, using throw moves is also an option, there are a variety of throws such as combo throws which basically means, when you grab your opponent you have a few seconds to press the button combination to carry the move on and do even more damage. Each character feels very balanced which is very important in a fighting game, there is also a tag mode which is very well done, you basically pick 2 characters and fight as normal, you can tag your partner in at anytime, and you can even do tag moves. Another great gameplay aspect in Dead Or Alive are the multi-stage arenas, you can knock your foe down to the next level of the arena causing big damage. Story Really sloppy storyline which feels like it has had minimal effort put into it, but this is a fighting game so it is forgivable, Music/Sound The music in this game suits it well, each character has their own theme and it suits each of them well. The voice-acting is fine, english voice acting would of been nice but the Japanese voices do the job just fine. Replay Value Lots and lots of costumes to unlock and 3 unlockable characters will keep you busy for quite a while, however online mode is where the replay is at, it is so much fun fighting with people from across the globe. You have an online ranking system (F - SS) which is nice incentive to keep on playing. Overall - This sets the standards for future fighting games with it's amazing online mode, however without the online mode it is "been there done that" as there is nothing really new here that hasn't been done before, without the online mode I would give it a 7/10.
