If it wasen't for all the backtracking and repetition of this game it would be one of the best launch titles of this gen

When I first saw this game coming out for the Xbox One during their E3 conference it honestly got me very excited to see what Microsoft had to offer. I honestly hadn't even heard of the series until this point, but this and many other games were a huge reason i chose to buy the Xbox one alongside the ps4 and I think this is one game a lot of other people picked up just for the Xbox one,

Story: (Spoiler Alert) So Dead Risings, story is a lot like something out of Resident Evil and it's quite a simple story. The city of Los Perdidos has been infected by a virus that turns people into zombies. After this the funny thing is that unlike most zombie apocalypse storys only this area of the world had been infected and the rest of the world is fine, so the government actually trys to make an effort to stop this by making a medicine call zombrex(which does not work) and they make everyone in the city get chipped, or they would face jail time for it(A comical charm that you will see throughout most of the game) So it's up too Nick Ramos to try to get parts and fuel for the plane too fly his freinds out of their before the government blows Los Perdidos off the map. The story has some great parts but, a lot of it dosn't have a solid foundation of a true plot and most of the story just feels like people telling you to do chores.

Presentation: This is one thing Dead Rising got immensely right, it's got this great charm too it, that anybody can enjoy. Nick Ramos is possibly one of the most likeable characters in a game, he's this awkward non heroic character that you just can't help but like, and his banter throughout the game that you hear can't help but put a smile on your face. The thing I love about the presentation is that this game is supposed to be a survival horror game that doesn't take itself seriously and it's a welcome new fresh feeling that makes you on edge, but also makes you laugh every once in a while, the charm in this games enunciation is some of the most intellectual you will have yet too see so far in this type of genre. The graphics in this game for next gen our amazing but nothing way too noticeable compared to last gen their nice too look out but not much but more detail on them. The presentation is a huge shining moment for Dead Rising 3

Gameplay:The gameplay for me is great at time, but on other parts of the game not so great, lets start with the good things, the combinations for weapons in this game our absurd literally crazy who thought up all this stuff? whoever did is a genius, their is not one combination that feels the same, and each one is a joy to use and adds a lot of depth to the game. Not only can you create new weapons but cars also, these aren't the best things ever, but some can be useful and make for some fun to be had. The boss battles in this one our hit and miss some really good others not so much. One really memorable one was when Nick fights the doctor, this is a creepy battle to say the least and the surrealness of it all make this battle a memorable one at that. Some of the bad things of the gameplay is the constant backtracking, I'm not one to complain about backtracking until it becomes continually evident and that's one continual mechanic of Dead Rising that get quite old a lot. Another complaint I have with this game is the constant do this do that while you our trying to just progress with the story, I get that these our optional missions, but they our just a huge distraction. Their isn't a whole lot of really amazing things about the gameplay, nor is their a whole lot of bad things when it comes to gameplay. I think this game is for more of a person who just want's to have a good fun enjoyable time and that's all good with me.

(Spoiler Alert) Ending:Throughout the story you figure out that this was all a plot to restructure the US by a general of the US and some other old lady that our plotting to do this, you must stop them and if you mess up say goodbye to all the time you saved up, which is a huge piss off, but anyways once you do you will figure out that the lady who made the immunity for nick did this for herself and only did it for people to know that she was not a mass murder, it's quite interesting. The story's not perfect but has some really great moments too it.

Overall Dead Rising 3 isn't the best launch game you could get for the Xbox One, but its definitely one you should get, you wiil have a lot of fun tinkering around with it, and you will have hours of enjoyment. Definitely an Xbox exclusive worth getting and I would even go as far as to say as a title worth getting the Xbox one over.
