Revolutionary but disturbing to a fault.
Negatives:
You may have written me off as a religious nut already but I plead for you to hear me out. I am in no way condemning people that played this game for I myself completed it despite feeling many time that I should turn it off and send it back. This game was so horrific and so gruesome that I found myself looking away from the screen at times due to the level of brutality. Many of the enemies and environmental aspects where so demonic that it made my stomach turn.
These facts could be construed as positive notes due to what the game was trying to achieve: Terror. However, I believe that this game went too far. There was a line crossed that should not be crossed without extreme censorship and limited access (NC-17 anyone??!!)
A final complaint is about the game play itself. I agree with some criticism about the monotonous tendencies that the game had. I dont believe it was as big a problem as some have said but I did feel that on some level. Also the character development was very poor. I really wanted to know more about the man I was controlling but never felt an ounce of ownership to his survival.
Positives:
Now that I have thoroughly ripped into the integrity of this game I would like to praise some things: First off the screen display integrated into the uniform was absolutely ingenious. I also thought the zero-G and space exposure segments where very well done. I was a fan of the weapons as well, though I thought a more satisfying BIG gun could have been nice. Some of the bad guys where so bad I actually had a very real desire to disintegrate them. (opps another negative)
