I am ANTI EA but this game is still worth owning.

User Rating: 8.5 | Dead Space X360
I've played the original of these types of games. It was called Alone in the Dark and it was 3.5in floppy discs for the PC.

I played Resident Evil on PS1 and as I went to open the last door in the game, the game locked up on me, it left a bitter taste in my mouth. I didn't like the other resident evils but I did enjoy Resident Evil: Code Veronica on Dreamcast.

Since then though, I've lost the flavor for these games. They get old. I don't like running around a level that i've been through 3 times to back to the same room because now there is a key there or a bookcase that I can move.

I picked up Dead Space on sale and I heard great reviews. Since I was doubley skeptic since EA hasn't DEVELOPED a good game in a long while, I went into with low expectations.

The first time I went into the game, I played in on hard. BIG MISTAKE. The game was way to hard and I stopped playing for a month or so. Then I started over and played it medium. Much more enjoyful. The story is actually compelling, visuals are fantastic and the photography directing is fantastic. They EA (forgot the exact studio) managed to nail this on on the head. While you do have to go back to a few places you've already been its still a good game.

What keeps it from a 10? Nothing really revolutionary in the game. It just has a great story and actually makes me want to get from level to level. It has some BIOSHOCK in it and some Resident Evil. Its just an overall good game. Not a awesomely great game. I do recommend it to anyone that likes the 3rd person adventure/scary games. Possibly even recommend it to the people that liked halo because of the story, not the hype.

The achievements are actually fun and not a ROYAL p.i.t.a to get like Valve's achievements (which kind of ruin the fun for me).
