Superb handheld game, Difficult controls.
Graphics: 10/10 I play this game on an ipod touch 4g, and it looks almost exactly like the 360 version except the textures aren't as high res, the antialiasing is somewhat worse, and the necromorph models are a little primitive compared to the 360.
but this IS the ios. we aren't expecting crysis. these are some of the best graphics on the IOS. right up there with rage HD and nova 2.
Sound: 10/10 The sound is the best part of this game. when played with headphones, you can hear every screech, groan and scream and tell where it's coming from (usually behind you).
there is not a TON of music in the game, but it comes up at just the right moments, making for some good horror-movie-esque jump scares.
Controls: 7/10 The controls are a little hard to get used to at first.
I found myself wasting precious ammo when trying to walk around
and accidentally using my slomo power when trying to quickturn.
also reloading is a little difficult during intense battles and the melee can only be used when a monster in in range of you.
Overall: 9.5/10 even though the controls aren't the best, I still enjoyed this game so much, I had to give it a 9.5. It is worthy of being in the dead space series, for it's freaky monsters, and awesome sound design.
I was actually scared in some parts of this game and I ain't no horror noob. I've played fear 1 and 2, dead apace (360), and amnesia among others, and this is still scary compared to those games. (granted, I was playing this in the dark with headphones on)
so if you don't already have this, get it. it's one of the best handheld games ever. you wont be sorry.
