Regardless of the negative feedback towards Dead Space 3, It still remains a solid sequel to it's predecessors!!

In summary, Dead Space 3 is an action based third-person shooter that is anything but contemporary. It strays from certain aspects derived from it's heritage but still remains complimentary in others. Controversy aside, new comers should feel welcomed along with veterans of the series (for the most part) after looking past numerous drawbacks.
Let's talk about in game mechanics. Isaac Clarke has new maneuvers improving cover based combat and evasive technique. In addition is the weapons crafting system, rising the opportunity for countless array of weaponry in your arsenal. The campaign is experienced through single player or drop in drop out co-op, with additional side missions and unlocks inducing replay value. Dead Space 3 visually excels, delivering breathtaking atmospheres and vast variety. The necromorphs have introduced additional bloodthirsty brethren as well and the impeccable audio bring your enemies and surroundings to life.
As always the highs are not without the lows, and you can't hide from the realization that the storyline is extremely lackluster. Incredibly dull and without inspiration, almost all narrative seems like a chore to partake in. The characters are all easily forgettable and the sappy love story makes you question if the writers lost hope halfway through development. What should be paramount in conveying and understanding the means behind your mission becomes lost in the convoluted storyline. Also at times I felt disengaged in certain scenarios you must climb vertically , as though visceral games tacked it on in a gambling pursuit to see if it worked.
In retrospect, the fundamental roots that make the series so enjoyable are still present, and the arise of new features and presentation increases longevity . Even though it might be different , sometimes it's just fun to feel in power and annihilate any necromorphs coming your way!!
