An evolution in gaming, that went somewhat unseen.
User Rating: 7.9 | Dead to Rights XBOX
This was one of the crop of titles that found its way onto X-Box about a year or so after the launch, This is the game that made me say, wow so this is what an X-Box can do. I will not beat around the bush, this game is hard. At somepoint it may even seem hopeless but thats what made this so much fun. There are very few levels you will make it through on one try you will end up throwing your control pad down at least once but I assure you this game is more good then bad. The first level is more of an introduction of what you can do, Pretty well walking through a construction yard trying out all the cool stuff you can do, like the classic peak around the corner and the slow motion driving forward and firing to my favorite, taking someone and using them as a human sheild. The game itself was very innovative at the time, since its release most aspects of the game have been stolen and carted off into other titles but alot of it began in Dead to Rights. The storyline is fairly entertaining for a 3rd person style game, has its share of twists but in all fairness there are some aspects that you can see coming from a mile away but it keeps it interesting and its nice to have reasons why you are going on a rampage. The graphics are very good, the advantage I found with the X-Box version was that it didn't get choppy during periods where there were what seemed to be endless enemies firing at you from every angle and its really handy to not have any slow downs when you are running and shooting for your life. The enemies are very repeatitive but are detailed, the AI is smarter then you think which leads to alot of the challenge, The Sound is really hard to gage because most of the time all you will hear is bullets wizing by your head or you firing but its a good soundtrack one which you may get tired of hearing after playing through some of the levels time and time again after being iced. The Replay value is next to none, when I beat this game I did a victorious fist pump and never wanted to play this game again, it was more about beating it to show I could toward the end. For its current price this game is something that most gamer may want to take a look at, many gamers today are screaming for something that will challenge their might, and this will do that and then some.
