Dead to Rights is a fun filled action game with some shocking characteristics...

User Rating: 8.9 | Dead to Rights PS2
Dead to Rights it one of those games that comes around once in a blue moon, one of those games that trys to bring the player back to the old arcade style of gameplay where nothing has to be justified. Right now your probably thinking "yeah so, alot of games do that", but this game does it well. Dead to Rights puts you in the shoes of Jack Slate, a Police officer, with his attack dog, who is somehow justified to kill everyone in his way. Along the way you will he able to take hostages (in which they may die from the foes shots, or if your done with him you can plug him in the head), and perform numberous grusome finishing moves, otherwise known as disarms, the game is considerably long, and has different level settings, which provide much replay value. The Graphics in Dead to Rights arnt the greatest, as Jacks guns magically appear in his hands and alot of the textures are washed out, at least for the PS2 version, Jacks hands look like clumbs of meat, covered with skin, on an arm, and the blood looks like red rasberry jam. But for the most part the graphics are satisfying enough, and wont dissapoint youm, especially if you love violence. The Gameplay in Dead to Rights is awesome, controls are very easy to control and the auto aim is just right, maybe a bit too leanient, but there is a difficulty setting for people who want a greater challenge. Included in Dead to Rights are a wide variety of mini games, which consist of picking locks, disarming bombs, finding bombs with your dog shadow, and in one case to keep a stripper dancing. The disarms in Dead to Rights is where the game truely shines, as there are a wide variety of combos in which you can disarm your foe while killing him in the process, and all of the disarms are immoral, inhumane, gory, and very satisfying. The sound in Dead to Rights is actually quite good, as guns sound powerful and forceful and voice acting is well done, even though, at times, it may sound a bit forced. All in all the sound is well done, not realistic in a sence, but well done. All in all Dead to Rights is a game that successfully brings back the old arcade style shooting games and lathers it in violence, gore, and cussing. This is a worth while game for all fans of any kind of shooter, action movies, or just someone who likes to relieve stress.
