The XBox's Holy Grail, the one game that was criminally overlooked, under-marketed, and relegated to the bargain bins.
There is so much to this game it's criminally negligent the way UBiSoft pretty much threw it out there and let it sink without a trace.
Developer SouthEnd Interactive made a game with astounding depth here and a replay value that is off the charts.
And just think: THAT'S WITHOUT MULTIPLAYER.
If there's ever a game that deserves to rise from the dead and be given another shot on the next gen console this is it.
Graphics: 9/10
For a game that came out almost 4 years ago, it has aged very well. The developers got the most out of the XBox engine, and did all this while building two different views of the action, Sports and Action view. Either one is dymnamic. All of the different teams look amazing, and the arenas are finely detailed.
Sound: 10/10
Not only does it sound like a future sport, the voice work on this game was terrific. NOTE: THIS GAME IS NOT FOR KIDS, IT HAS ADULT LANGUAGE AND PLENTY OF IT.
Controls: 9/10
Very rarely can you blame a game loss on the controls. They are very easy to learn and are very intuitive. Playing single player you can interact with your teammates very easily.
Gameplay: 10/10
The AI in this game is very great, especially when you play it at the higher difficulties. The other team really IS trying to kick your ass. When you get the difficulty just right, all the great elements of sports come through; close games, crucial 'plays', being behind by two goals with 40 seconds left and the clock ticking down....it gets intense.
Since this game is now in most store's bargain bins for $10 or less, snap it up. It'll be worth it.
