Best of its kind
The graphics have been greatly improved since the original deer hunter. You begin in the main menu where you can customize how you would want to look like and have a variety of different weapons and scents to select from. All these weapons have no special requirements to earn them. They are free. For your hunter's skills in the other hand, you must increase its skills from bagging deers. For the types of deer you kill, you earn points which then can be distributed to any skills such as steadier aiming, better tracking and calling etc.
During the game, it might get boring at times because you either have to wait for the deer or spend lots of time just trying to find a deer. It may get quite frustrating when you lose a miss your chance of bagging a deer. Deers are usually hard to find for beginners. But do not worry there are some other wildlife that you can massacre such as raccoons, geese, squirrels, etc. if you ever get bored. But not all animals can be killed for your pleasure, a certain bird is protected by law and if you kill it you lose all the deer you bagged in this round and lose responsibility points. After putting lots of effort to finding a deer and killing it, you might say "Finally, finally! I killed a deer!" And that's what deer hunter 2004 is all about
Deer hunter 2004 also has a trophy room where you can find details of your trophy and how you killed it. I personally like my deer with lots of bullet holes through its hide, preferably the head.
