Def Jam Fight for NY is great example of the involvement of the hip-hop game in the video game industry. Although the first Def Jam game was popular for having famous voices and characters, it lacked a good storyline. Def Jam Fight for NY takes place right after the first game. A great feature is the Create a Character option is great and much better than the old 5 character choice. Your text pager has now been upgraded to a cool T-Mobile Sidekick. Also, the famous faces of the music industry go beyond the Def Jam music label and also play a role in the story unlike Def Jam Vendetta. Also showing their face in this game are actors like Danny Trejo and Omar Epps. The Shopping District was also a great addition to the game. When going to the shopping district you can buy jewelry from the famous Jacob the Jeweler and fashion yourself up with clothes from brands like Ecko, Phat Farm, Reebok, Nike, and so much more. You could go on for hours about the comparisons between Def Jam Vendetta and Fight for NY, but overall Def Jam Fight for NY is much, much better than Def Jam Vendetta.
