So yeah... this is your niche if fighting games are your thing.

I found it quite hard to appreciate this game, being that I'm disinterested in fighting games. But if you love fighting and/or hip hop, you just might like this game. This game is exactly the same across all 3 platforms, though Xbox has a little visual improvement and PS2 has the controller advantage, like usual. Graphics are top-notch overall, I had a fun time customizing my character; it's very easy to do so to your liking. The only crap part is the crowds, this is PSone style blocky modeling here, but you rarely notice it. Audio is on par, all the moves sound quite brutal and the ambient sounds really help sell off the atmosphere. Controls are simple and easy to pick up and play, but actually mastering them is where it gets difficult. If you try to advance past the 3rd or 4th fight without actually taking time to learn the ins and outs of the controls, you WILL die. A LOT. Like "Ninja Gaiden"-A LOT. After you do master it, just like the GS review says, you don't have much time to think, just a bare few seconds here and there to decide on a grab or strike move. I didn't have much fun, but maybe you'll get further than I did. Still, being open-minded, this is a spectacular fighting game you don't wanna pass up. Unless you don't like fighting games.
