Although it has big disappointments, I myself am a huge fan of both fighting games and the music of hip hop so its great

Ive always been a fan of hip hop music...mostly old school and underground, but I do like a little bit of mainstream, just depends who it is...but this game suits well with my hip-hop tastes with rappers like Slick Rick, Redman, Method Man, Busta Rhymes, Xzibit, Warren G, David Banner, Erick Sermon, etc. and also me being a huge fan of fighting games...this is still a great game to me.

This game builds up from Def Jam Vendetta, which was primarily a wrestling game, you can now do up to 5 styles...Wrestling, Submissions, Street Fighting, Kick boxing, and Martial Arts...when you create a character, you can mix 3 different styles or stick with the same styles...its really interesting how you can combine styles and sometimes on the single player one on one (non story mode)...it will tell you how to create styles like Drunken Kung Fu would be Martial Arts, Wrestling, and Submissions.

Graphics looks pretty neat...although it would look best on Xbox (if only they had it backwards compatible for the Xbox 360) than the PSP...still its just a handheld system...most of the rappers look alike their real selves...some are bulked up really high like Ice-T, which gamespot apoligized for not being that huge hahaha (though Ice-T is still a big guy not to mess with, he's not really that huge in real life)

The disappointments are the voice acting...One of the reasons I wanted to play this game cause I wanted to hear all my favorite rappers taunts and voices but they only talk in the intro, screaming blazes, and then after the fight...it really doesnt feel as satisfying...also the story mode is ALL in text...there are no voice acting in the story mode either.

I do like on the story mode that you can pick where you want to be at, like Manhattan, Staten Island, Queens, etc. and each area has a handpick variety of rappers...like majority of west coast is at Manhattan, Meth, Red, Ghostface, and Erick Sermon at Staten Island, and a lot of others...although they probably arent the most correct (Fat Joe lives in the Bronx, not Manhattan)...its still pretty cool you can collect some members for your crew and go to other hoods, take their clubs, then take their members.

Overall, its still a really satisfying game to play...I love the soundtrack, even if it is censored...it sure beats the soundtrack on Icon and Vendetta...only some big disappointments to me but this will keep me very satisfied until I get the console version so I can play it on the Xbox 360, if they put it on backwards compatible or the Gamecube since Wii can play them.
