Original and Disturbing
User Rating: 8 | DEFCON: Everybody Dies PC
Though certainly not a game for everyone, who can fault the concept of CREATING nuclear war instead of the tired and formulaic good-and-evil fight against it? If anything, DEFCON goes further than any game in recent memory to show just how depersonalized and utterly possible a full-scale conflict could be. One finds themselves putting a great deal more thought into strategic planning and future hostilities than originally imagined, and the kitschy "political incorrectness" of DEFCON quickly melts into a very solid strategy and combat simulator.
There is no reason why a gamer who finds Civilization or Age of Empires compelling would not find something to like about the nail-biting strategy and heated decision-making the player is forced into during a single play-through of DEFCON. If only it were still free.
