Well now where do i start, first off i do have to say that it is not a bad game, in fact it could be a lot and i mean a LOT better. And i do know that games of these type or any game as a matter of fact is not meant to be to or very easy, BUT, Defender goes beyond making it hard, in fact almost impossible to beat, and when i first bought the game, it looked good and from what i read it sounded to be a good game, well was i wrong and i guess i could blame my self for not looking at more reviews and to see what forums were out there for this game. And as i look for helpful ideas and or hints i even went so far as to look for cheats, low and behold the forums were empty, no one was talking about it, or even giving any help to others that may have questions as i do. And the only hint / cheat / helpful idea i found was that i can pick up a tank to help me fight the Manti, oh which by the way are the bad bugs trying to take over everything in site. I have played the game for about two weeks now and im at a point where i can't get a mission completed, I do like a chalange and when i got Defender, I thought it just might be it, but with having to save colonist and defend a base as well, oh yeah you have telaporters in some missions, but your given one or two conolist at a time, but you need 3 to make one tank. That is if you have tellaporters. And so far i have only had one missle crawler factory in a mission wich you do need to help fight off the swarm of Manti, oh then there is a mission where you have to clear the LZ, give cover to the drop ships coming in and save a few colonist, and all this time you have colonal Adams yelling at you to cover the drop ships, and to clear the LZ. I thought with a name like Defender you might have a fighting chance, and at least you as the only Pilot that has to do just way to much, at least they could have made it so you would have a few other even if they were AI Pilots to be your wingmen. BUT NO!!!! your the sole pilot that has to dedfend a base clear a LZ and cover drop ships. Oh and when you do have power ups, you can't get to them, because they are right next to the Manti shooting at you, and the ships, Geeze you think they could have made them and whimpER, what little shields you do have are gone in 1 or two shots. and the only ship that can take a few more hits is so slow and its like trying to fly a tank on hi heels LOL, I knmow the game is meant to be a fast action game, but they have you doing way to much for one Pilot, your ships of choice or way to weak and you run out of ammo to fast, and to get better weapons to upgrade the ones you have already cost you 15k 20k and the price just keeps going up. Oh mind you all is in Rooke mode I would hate to see what the game is like in Elite or Veteran, If i had a choice to keep playing this game or packman I would choose Pacman just to kill time. Well in closing my long winded Review here I will be taking Defender back to EB games selling it back to them and get something better.
