The multiplayer in the game is top quality, when a) you can get a game and b) the people you play with aren't cruel.

I have owned the game for about a week now and I have been playing on and off, with real life getting in the way of the constant 24hrs obviously. I have been getting pretty good with one of the demigods and I have been enjoying every game I have played in. The biggest problem, aside from the easy to fix soon to be fixed multiplayer connection issues, is the community itself that plays.

Don't get me wrong, there is certainly a strong community that provides helpful spec info and guides on how to play, but the people inside the games that are on your teams are just relentlessly evil. I mean all of them too, not just some. On every losing team there is always the player who says, "I'm sorry, but my team is full of retards." Or, "At least I'm better than my noob teammates, right? Gee, I am so cool."

The biggest problem with this is that its uninviting. For a game that has been less than a month on the shelves, it really seems like the masters who play the game have a hard time stooping down to the level of a new player.

At the point in time when I played my second multiplayer game ever I came across a player called Deathxxxiii, who literally made me want to throw the game out. "Dude, you're THIS level, THIS far into the game?" First of all, it's your fault for joining a host game called Noobs Only, you elitist pri-ck. Secondly, I am sorry that I don't spend my life playing and reading up on the strategy before I buy a game. Thirdly, the other player in the match don't care if you say "At least I am better than my noob partner" because that only lowers yourself that much.

Other than that, the gameplay is fine. There is the occasional disconnect, etc. which will probably be fixed, and I would recommend buying the game. When the clan system starts, I am going to start one that will help out new players so that they don't feel bad about losing their first game and learn that it is normal to.

Another wonderful feature of the game is "Ragequit". I am sure that this may be common in some games, but I mostly have played FPS and MMO online games so there hasn't really been that oppurtunity in the past. A lot of the time in losing situations, and by a lot I mean constantly, people will RAGEQUIT because they don't enjoy losing. And by losing I mean anything negative in the entire span of a match, no matter how minuscule. It's a huge slap in the face to be killed twice because of a gank, and then have your teammate quit the game. Thanks for ruining it for the other five people in the game, great job.

Because of these players I both love and hate the game and am torn either for or against playing it. I don't understand the hostility, it's 30 mins of a GAME, that is usually fun even in losing situations. Chill out, just play.
