Campaign is too short, but blowing things up is fun.

It wasn't worth the $30 I spent on it, especially considering that it was download only. Seemed like the campaign was over just when I was really getting into it. It only took me ~4 hours to get through the entire campaign and all tutorials. That left me wondering what the hell I'd do next in the game.

There are hidden items to pick up (piles of scrap metal), so I will probably go through each mission again just to get them and see if anything happens, but I'm doubting I'll get something special for the effort.

As far as game play goes, it could be better. The buildings are constructed of large blocks, mostly, that you basically just pushing out of place. There's no chipping away or smashing and leaving piles of tiny rubble. Just big blocks, most of which take a friggin eternity to beat into oblivion -- literally: destroying them removes all trace of the block.

The worst part is that if you knock a building down, walls tend to remain in tact, and if you try to break up a fallen wall with a jackhammer, the entire friggin wall will start sliding away from you. I demolished the outer walls of one building, and the pillars inside were holding part of the roof up, which then started spinning on one of the remaining pillars! Not exactly realistic. Plus, you can't be crushed by a falling building, or harmed by falling off of one... very disappointing.

You can, however, make things explode. And it's pretty nice when you blow up a building from the inside. But using the wrecking balls is another disappointment. They just don't have the impact I was hoping for.

It is mod-able, and I might find some on-line, but I don't know if I have enough interest in the game to check any out.
