User Rating: 3.5 | Desert Rats vs. Afrika Corps PC
Afrika Korps is a tactically focused game so there is no resource gathering or unit building in the misions. Sound: sound effects, voice acting and music is mediocre to fair. Game play: Interface, control balance are rough generally. Value: Longevity and replay value will be weak because of no skirmish maps and micromanagement over unintelligent units, unfortunate pathfinding. Gameplay may lead to excessive restarting and loading of saved games, basically because of flawed in-game mechanics and a general lack of polish - which will keep this game from being fun for most. I would consider the game insufficient compared to other competitors. I would approach this game with caution. I feel that the unit selection screen, where you can buy and trade units, is a distraction. Simple upgrades to unit capabilities would be a better idea here. There is no ability to call in air or artillary strikes and it would have been nice if more reenforcements or paratroopers could have been introduced in the game.
