Great While it Lasts
Your other psychic powers include telekinesis (which you can use blast your enemies over the horizon, of fling them into walls etc.) and brain scanning (which lets you read peoples minds; sometimes they do think some funny stuff). My personal favourite is hypnosis though. Although you never really need it in the game (unless it’s needed for a specific task) it’s still funny to watch a secret agent curl up like a baby and go to sleep, or a cow start dancing and have people crowd around and applaud it. You also have weapons (which can be upgraded when you collect enough DNA from brains) there are only four. You have your typical starter weapon, a weapon like your starter weapon but better, a grenade launcher type weapon you never use and an anal probe, which you use to extract brains. You can also pilot your saucer and cause mass havoc on the streets and destroy the entire neighbourhood. This isn’t as fun as it sounds. The damage done to buildings looks unrealistic (they sort of sink into the ground) and your saucer will just get swarmed by missiles and tanks in the harder levels.
The levels and missions have a similar format to the GTA games. Whilst you’re not on a mission you can walk around the neighbourhood and do side-missions. These are often boring, repetitive and pointless. In fact, in one mission when you have to race a pack of cows, Crypto (your character) has an argument about it. The worst thing is, instead of unlocking new side missions as you go along, you just unlock the same mission again, but harder this time (like kill more cows or do it in 10 seconds less). The missions are good though. They’re a lot more varied than the side missions, and just a lot better. It’s a shame then that the mains stories so short. I finished in less than a week, and the only things to do after are the side missions.
I do hope a sequel will come out, but they need make the story longer. More weapons would be nice as well, and why do they only invade America? Despite what most Americans think, the most of the world do have brains.
