So much choice...truly a game that you can't get bored of.

This is the first game to truly make me agonise over it. Not because of any qualitative issues, but because you've got so much to choose from.

Let's start with the RPG elements. Your upgrades and their influence on your play style are so varied and useful that you can easily spend a good 5 minutes debating which upgrade you want now, which can wait...and which compete with them. Want the ability to see through walls to evade the guards? But what about the ability to be invisible...or silence your footsteps? All three options are decent, but you won't have them all any time soon; and once you have one or two of them your priorities may shift yet again - the art of compromise becomes a major part of the game as you balance the various skills and their impact on the action and roleplay elements of the game.

The action is impressive, if not entirely what you'd expect from an FPS or TPS. Going in guns blazing and trying to play this like Mass Effect or CoD is going to get you killed quickly. It pays to be patient and hide (unless you opt for all those armour upgrades...) and only take out a small number of enemies when you know the odds are in your favour and won't attract too much attention before you can get away. Usually your choices are quite varied and multiple entrance points can make a level either hard or much easier...assuming you have the relevant skills to open up that particular entrance.

The hacking mini-games are not as repetitively simple as those of Mass Effect or as downright encrypted as those of Alpha Protocol - They're easy to understand and you can even pick up experience or credit rewards if don't just opt to gain access to the room/computer...but that comes at the price of being detected or booted out of the system (or even just buy equipment to circumvent it). Once again, choice and risk become a major role in how you approach this side of the game - the more risks you take the more you can be rewarded...or punished.

While the graphics aren't as outstanding as the gameplay, that just isn't important. This is an excellent game and one from this year you would be crazy to avoid.
