First of all, quicksave is your friend with Deus Ex: Human Revolution. While not overly difficult, there are parts that are tough and you will be glad you saved. The main reason to save though, and the reason that this game is not getting a 10, is due to it locking up several times and requiring me to close and restart the game. That, however, is the only major flaw in DE:HR. The story is one of the best I've ever encountered in my 30+ years of game playing and you truly feel like you are playing a novel or movie. The games flows almost perfectly from one mission to the next, and even the side quests fit neatly into the overarching plot line. The gameplay is superb and the combat is just right on the standard difficulty. You will get killed, but not often enough to cause major frustration. When you finally do get through a boss battle or a tough mission, you will feel like you truly accomplished something. This game truly does allow for multiple styles of play. I'm much more of a run and gun type, but DE:HR allowed me to unleash my inner creeper, making it easy to sneak around when you didn't want to fight or were low on ammo. Ammo is usually plentiful, but there were section of the game where every shot counted. Being able to sneak up on enemies and subdue them physically came in very handy. Hacking also plays a major part in this game, and it is handled absolutely perfectly. You don't feel like you are playing some stupid afterthought mini-game and you can pick up some extra money and XP as well. The AI is pretty good and it is fun to mess with by throwing objects and distracting them. Here is a useful hint. When you can, throw gas canisters. You can take out whole groups of enemies with those. Same with explosive barrels. The graphics are very good, nothing completely mind-blowing, but satisfying nevertheless. Same goes for the sound effects. The soundtrack is pretty cool and I wouldn't mind it on my iPhone.
